Soul of An Artist, Heart of A Designer

Starting her journey at a very young age, Hamda Al Fahim’s innovative doodles turned into creative sketches of eastern-western influenced eveningwear in no time. A graduate of interior design, her heart was driven to another “kind” of design and her first recognition regarding that would be in 2010, when she won the “Design A Dress” competition.

As a woman, Al Fahim aims to make every lady who has slips her structure into one of Hamda Al Fahim dresses feel “fabulous and on top of this world”. She goes through vast deliberation on her neatly sewed embroidery, regal organza and sprucely crafted sequin and it is discernibly exhibited in her dresses.

Without further due, here is some of her eveningwear:

The Rabbit Hole at ZUC: Day #2

As The Rabbit Hole activities came out as  success at the first day in Zayed University’s Carnival, we were more than excited to meet the new crowd and audience and welcome the new visitors and guests into our very own tents where Wonderland takes place.

Hessa Al Falasi received more applicants and interaction from ZU students, more studded pads were sold and a lot came ordering for a 4Collections’ dress. Here are a few pictures that illustrates our second day at Zayed University’s Carnival.

The Rabbit Hole at ZUC; Day #1

Hello fellow rabbits, I wish you a beautiful evening! What an exhausting day indeed to The Rabbit Hole team! As you may have heard or read, today is the first day of Zayed University’s annual Carnival and there was a section for all initiatives associated and founded by students from the university itself, and of course, we had our wonderland tents built in our very own corner.

As promised, we held multiple activities and to our shock, we received a lot of great feedback and interaction from the university girls, visitors and guests. We’re very flattered and gratefully thankful and appreciative!

As the opening ceremony started, H. H. Sheikh Majed Bin Mohammed graced the university with his presence along with other VIP guests and media, and of course we caught him just in time to take him on a mini tour around our tents.

By the time the clock hit 12pm, it was time for abaya designer Hessa Al Falasi to take over the workshop made by her to teach the upcoming designers in the university how to sketch a dress and innovatively put it all together without the need of sewing! Thankful, many responded to the workshop joyfully and the place was soon packed with ladies.

In our second tent, we held an information desk of The Rabbit Hole where we not only did we enlighten the students about our initiatives but we have also distributed questionnaires in order to communicate with our future designers and get feedback whether it was positive or negative.

In the same tent, we held two boutiques. 4Collections showcased some of its dresses and were taking orders from girls who wished for a dress.

Also, Cloaks & Daggers showcased their newly established collection of spiked and studded shoulder pads, along with crystallized pacifiers and nail-cutters.

Last but not least, the very signature of The Rabbit Hole… THE SNACK BAR! And man did we run out of snacks so quickly OR WHAT! Although we didn’t get the rotating signature bar, but the one we got looked classy among the other cafes that were present in the carnival.

Oh and a surprise guest(s) showed up mid-day! Guess who? The WildPeeta brothers, Payman & Mohammed Al Awadhi! They were very impressed about what we have achieved so far and it was such a pleasure and an honor to have them say that about us for we are still in the beginning of our journey.
