When is a better time to celebrate but in winter? Yesterday at Etoile Boutique fashion blogger Nadya Hasan and Lisa Strannesen both collaborated to style models and showcase different outifts in the store. Spotted designer pieces from Valentino to Roksanda Ilincic, which were utterly beautiful! Simple to say, the event was glamorous with hint of fierce.

“Life is too short to wear boring clothes”. Indeed, it is! Designer Sarah Jane-Clark and Jane Middleton defy all the odds with their free-spirited Spring 2013 collection, which boasts of metallic mini-dresses and printed pants! Sass and Bide been worn by the likes of Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker. Certainly, it would be hard not to notice the artistic flair!
This iconic lady, who also happens to be Tank magazine’s fashion director, has been under our fashion radar lately! Issa is the epitome of multi-cultural, being born to a Chinese mother, and a Lebanese/Iranian father, also raised in Montreal. She picks her outfits depending on how her day is planned out. “A dinner means an outfit that can work day-to-evening, a day of running around means comfortable (but fashionable) shoes, and so on,” she tells The Telegraph (Fashion). What’s not to love about her statement outfits and indescribable beauty?

A team consisting of Emirati youth? Check. A magazine that writes about everything going on in the Gulf? Check. It seems like Emirates Diaries has got it all covered!
Founded by Maryam Al Mansoori and Mohammad Al Banna, Emirates Diaries is simply what you could call “Youth for the youth”. The magazine includes articles on initiatives such as Think-Up GCC, Ebda3 GCC and also artists such as Rashid Hussein and Khawla Al Marri. Our favorite piece of the magazine “obviously” would be the fashion and beauty section where we were featured! To promote their very first issue, Emirates Diaries hosted a launch at Zayed University on Saturday the 17th of November and made it a public event. Of course, members of our team attended to witness the success of our friends! The schedule consisted of the activities that will be taking place during the event which included action painting and talks. Starting off with a motivational speech from Ali Al Suloom of Ask Ali, the event seemed to go quite smoothly. They featured an artist drawing the magazine’s logo in action, which dazzled the bewildered onlookers. Then each of the founders talked about how the journey was for them and what difficulties each of them faced. After they spoke the founders answered any questions asked by people from the audience. Throughout the event one could play a game of chess against Jamila Al Ahli or get a drink at the Guarana stand, which made it more fun! Later young author Dubai Abulhoul spoke about pursuing dreams, which was very inspirational. In the end, the host wrapped up the event with a thank you speech to all the members, contributors and sponsors. Just reading the magazine, you could say that all their hard work paid off!
